LEARNING OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES


1. Know the principles of information policies that promote equity.

1.1. Challenge common misconceptions of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

2. Know the stakeholders who are decisive in the design of plans in the information policies
for the promotion of equity.
2.1. Examine critically the social, political, economic, and corporate systems that have power and influence over information production, dissemination, access, and consumption.

3. Understand the humanity of all people without implying a different social, professional, and personal role for women.
3.1. Confront issues such as power, oppression, and inequity, in order to helps students to develop a social justice consciousness.

4. Learn how to cater to people with disabilities and special needs.
4.1. Realize that effective access to information relates to form as well as content.
4.2. Promote the inclusion of people with disabilities or special abilities.

5. Design content that promotes usability and, especially, accessibility.
5.1. Understand the gender gap in science.
