This Unit aims to raise trainees’ awareness of the connection between environment, society, and economy.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. Teaching connection between environment, society, and economy. 

2. Explaining basic physical, social,and psychological human needs and identifying how these needs are currently addressed in their own physical urban/rural settlements.  

3. Addressing basics of sustainable planning and building.  

4. Teaching how to decouple economic growth from natural hazards and natural degradation.  


LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. Trainees will understand the connection between the environment, society, and economy.
2. They will become agents of change towards sustainability since they realize how innovation, entrepreneurship, and new job creation can contribute to decent work.
3. They will understand the principles of sustainable planning and building in order to obtain sustainable cities and communities.
4. Trainees will know how to decouple economic growth from natural hazards and natural degradation.
