LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Define and articulate the main theoretical concepts and the practical outcomes of Sustainable Development Literacy – SDL in connection with achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
2. Reduce inequality in access and attainment of education and motivate others to educate themselves.
3. Consider the costs and benefits of one’s own needs for education.
4. Raise awareness of inequality in access to and attainment of education, particularly between girls and boys and in rural areas. Identify a lack of equitable access to quality education and lifelong learning opportunities.
5. Recognize the intrinsic value of education and analyze and identify their own learning needs in their personal development.
Learning outcomes:
1. Identify the importance of Sustainable Development Literacy – SDL.
2. Explore general information sources to increase familiarity with the term SDL (use dictionaries, encyclopedias, or trusted and evaluated online journals, blogs, wikis, newsfeeds, news articles, and videos).
3. Identify which types of SDL are in connection with achieving the UN SDGs. Identify how characteristics of the different types of SDL affect the world.
4. Raise awareness of inequality in access to and attainment of education, particularly between girls and boys and in rural areas. Identify a lack of equitable access to quality education and lifelong learning opportunities.
5. Recognize the intrinsic value of education and analyze and identify their own learning needs in their personal development.
