 Digital Literacy

Information Communication and Technology (ICT) focuses on adopting, adapting, and using digital devices and ICT-based media applications and services (Agustini et al.,2020). ICT (basic) skills include the knowledge of basic concepts and functions of computers, the ability to identify, connect and operate hardware, the ability to deal with standard office applications (word processors,spreadsheets, and presentation software), the ability to deal with software programs on mobile devices, the ability to use the internet (browsers, e-mail),and to be aware of and deal with security and privacy issues (Fisser et al.,2020).

Read the definition of Digital Literacy and think of the DiL skills it involves to answer the quiz:

Digital Literacy can be clarified as the ability of individuals to apply functional skills to digital devices in order to locate information, think critically, collaborate and communicate with others in a creative and effective form, and also be aware of electronic safety.

Activity 3 

It is helpful to have recommendations on tools or learning materials that can be utilized at different levels and cover a wide range of content. Find a variety of ICT tools on the Java Tpoint (follow the link) website for educators to plan educational activities that provide opportunities to engage in learning (e.g., tools for editing images, digital drawing and creating illustrations, developing mind maps, etc.).
