"Information Literacy (IL) basic concept and prevalent models"

Learning Objective 1 of Module 3 contains five (5) activities that will help you become familiar with Information Literacy (IL) basic concept and prevalent models to use when preparing any lesson plan with IL and MIL elements

Activity 2 - MIL M3 - Learning Objective 1

Give your pupils, students or the community you serve a topic of their interest. Prompt them  to answer and discuss each of the questions below. After each question reveal the given answers below and prompt them to reflect on their initial answers.

Activity 3 - MIL M3 - Learning Objective 1

After studying both “UK Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) Information Literacy Model” and  “The SCONUL Seven Pillars of Information Literacy: Core Model”, try a crossword that attempts to spot the similarities between these two IL Models.

Read this open access source: the “Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education” Adopted by the ACRL Board, January 11, 2016 and then press "Read"😉 below to do the activities in the Interactive Book concerning “How to Use the ACRL Framework”.


Activity 5 - MIL M3 - Learning Objective 1

Watch this Video that provides an overview of the ACRL Framework; its history and purpose; and recommendations for adopting it in your teaching.

"Learn about MIL Framework"

Learning Objective 2 of Module 3 contains a set of five (5) activities, incorporated into an e-book, that will help you be informed about MIL Framework to use when preparing any lesson plan with IL and MIL elements


Activity 6 - MIL M3 - Learning Objective 2

The Media and Information Literacy Alliance (MILA) has developed a Framework that draws from real life examples provided by sector representatives from the Information Literacy Group (ILG). Study this Framework and then press "Read" 😉 below to do the activities in the Interactive Book.

"Reflect on pedagogies"

Learning Objective 3 of Module 3  contains a set of three (3) activities, incorporated into an e-book, that will help you reflect on how to collaborate with your colleagues and with librarians when preparing any lesson plan with IL and MIL elements
